Jollibee Foods Corporation is helping financially challenge students finish College through a program dubbed as SEEDS stands for Skills Enhancement and Educational Development for Students.
I have been searching on the Internet in my hopes to gather more information about this program. But it seems I can’t find a reliable or shall I say detailed website about this. Even the Jollibee website does not have a page specifically design to discuss SEEDS.
Luckily, a classmate of mine is a SEEDS scholar so I have something to say in here. Your school must have an existing partnership with Jollibee. Jollibee will pay only up to P12,000 pesos. The rest will be shouldered by you. And you need to work at a Jollibee store too. So this is not a free scholarship at all. It’s like getting a loan but instead of paying it in monetary terms, you will have to render services at Jollibee. It is indeed a working student program of the company. Working hours depend on your class schedule. It can be a 4 to 5 hr-shift a day and definitely it won’t conflict your schedule at school. According to my classmate, she still receives something though on paydays.
Well, basically you can just ask your school registrar or the school you intended to enroll if they accept SEEDS scholar or inquire at a Jollibee store near you.
I sent Jollibee an email and will update this blog once I get a reply from them.
For the meantime check out the schools I found that are in partnership w/ Jollibee.

LATEST UPDATE as far as I know as a scholar. 5 years contract, Most of the seeds scholars had been an employee before, if you have good performance they will offer you. But you can inquire too on the branch you are working. If you want to stop from being a seeds you can submit a resignation but you have to finish the current semester.
As far as you receive passing grades you will stay as a scholar. You can also submit a resignation if you have worked enough time they paid on your expenses. The store or branch must prioritize the schedules of the scholars for them to be able to achieve the time needed.
Gusto ko pong malaman kung anong formula/solution kung pano namin malalaman kung magkano ang binabawas sa mga seeds scholar? May payslip po ba sila? May Statement of Account po ba sila? Syempre po, maganda pong maging aware ang isang studyante sa mga ganyang bagay. May mga pagkakataon kasing nahihirapan na pala ang isang empleyado/studyante kung hindi nya alam ang nangyayari sa pinagpapaguran nya. Salamat po.
hey jez for this matter meron po na pinapadala ang main office ng school deductions every cut off period. they even indicate their the computations on how they gave you your salary =)
manhours per cut-off minus 1,200!
Possible for a scholar to still have some salary if you are a scholar with a tuition below P12000 and have a good schedule for you to work more time.

masya din mging seeds for 2 years i’ve worked at jollibee BUT the BAD thing is we do not have any benefits at all. they should work out that matter. we are getting the said “allowances” but actually its really our salary. pero while working you can have lots of friends even your managers. =)

about seeds program ng jollibee foods corporation, kung taga-quezon city ka meron sa New England College tie-up sila about this program. Kung gusto niyo malaman ang full details about Seeds Program tumawag kayo sa Registrar office # 742-4050 may free orientation. Ipaliliwanag sa inyo ng mabuti kapag nagpunta kayo mismo dun school mabait naman yung “Dean” ng school ganun din sa registrar puwede niyo itanong lahat ng gusto niyo malaman. 5 years ang contract niyo sa jollibee.
Nga pala, ang SEEDS Program ay hindi Scholarship Program kumbaga financial assistance ang programa nila sa New England College ni-required sila ng Jollibee Foods Corporation na 15 Units lang ang ibibigay sa mga students na nakapaloob sa SEEDS Program, required din na 4 hours lang ang klase nila and another 4 hours para sa pagiging crew sa Jollibee. Tuition fee ang sagot ng Jollibee kumbaga mag-aadvance ng bayad ang Jollibee and then yung student mag-wowork sa kanila as part-time.

I think only regular employees are given benefits. Most contractual employees are only given not more than 6 months to work or render service.
This could be said for most of the companies hiring contractual employees, if I am not mistaken.

being in seeds program is a great oportunity. But stil dapat kng handa sa mga papasanin mung exist sa skul. Magiging overwork undertime and underpayed ka pa. Seeds student has only and can only have duty hours maximum of 48hrs/15days on its 1st sem 72hrs/15days on its next sem onwards and 96hrs/15days every vacation. So kung seeds kau pag kota na kau sa oras nyo sabihan nyo manager nyo. Dalawa lng kahihinatnan ng subrang oras nyo magiging charity work or utang na pwede makalimutan. No double pay, no holliday pay, no 13month pay and no health insurance ang seeds. Katulad ko noong end of february pa ako may subrang oras at d pa bumaba sa 40hrs at hangang ngaung june d parin bayad. Magiging pasukan nalng at kailangan mu ng pera pero walang kang magawa. Kc bawal sa seeds ang sumubra sa oras. Pero alam din yan ng managers na bawal utangin ang pinagtrabahohan na oras lalo na sa tulad natin.

tulad ko february 30 2012 end of first sem ko nagkaoon ako nang subrang oras na mahigit sa 40+ at hangang ngayun june na at pasukan may utang parin na oras ang jollibee sa akin di ko na babanggitin ang store branch… mahigit 30+ hours pa… dinadagdag na lng nila ang subra kung oras every cut off sample nakapagduty ako nang just 72 hours at idadagdag na lng nila ang 24 hours upang maging 96… tsik tsik pero di yan ang nangyari sa akin kasi lagi akung 10 hours on duty at normal wage lng yan walang OT… na 2 hours.. kaya ako ay sumusubra parin sa oras… nung need ko na nga pang bayad sa exis ko sa skul kasi 12000 lng ang bayad nang jollibee di ko inaasahan ang companya kasi di nila maipasok ang more that 90+ ko na oras.. kaya akoy nag hanap pa at nangutang sa mga kakilala…

Hi! My friend worked in Jollibee for almost three (2) years as SEEDS. I just would like to ask what will happen if my friend or that student or a scholar under SEEDs policy program decided to resign and not to finish the studies because he wanted to grab an opportunity to work abroad? Can he still request for the Certificate of Employment in the store or branch where he worked? (sayang naman po kasi).As per advised of one of the manager on duty,is that true that the school (where Jollibee SEEDs tied up) will be the one to issue the said Certificate needed? I just wanna ask about the scholarship. I would like to clarify about the benefits granted to this scholarship. I’m a SEEDs scholar for almost a year and I rendered my resignation letter just this month that was May 06, 2013, upon rendering my resignation I haven’t sign any papers or documents that can notify the head office or in the university where I am enrolled. Sad thing is that when I asked my manager about it She just said that I don’t need to sign anything since I rendered my resignation before my contract will end. And that contract will only end if I can finished/graduate in college. I just want to have some feedback about this concern because it is very much unfair to me that through out the year I wont be receiving nothing.
