GSIS (Government Services Insurance System) is now accepting applications for the Scholarship Raffle Draw for 2011.
Who can join?
- All active GSIS members of good standing are eligible to join
What are at stake?
- P20,000 tuition fee and miscellaneous per semester
- P2,000 monthly stipend
How does this work?
- GSIS members need to fill out a form and submit it to any GSIS branch.
- Winners can nominate anyone (friend, son, daughter, niece, nephew) who are incoming freshman or enrolled college student as the potential scholar.
- Winners are drawn via electronic raffle.
- There are 200 slots available.
- Application period is from February 1 to April 29, 2011.
- May 16, 2011 is the scheduled electronic raffle draw.
The available slots per major grouping are;
- 56 slots for National Capital Region
- 64 slots for Luzon
- 37 slots for Visayas
- 43 slots for Mindanao
Where to send application forms?
- You may personally visit any GSIS branch or
- Send it via email to the following: agmplucas@gsis.gov.ph, cpcastillo@gsis.gov.ph and jjventura@gsis.gov.ph.

P.S. I asked my friend who is working in my hometown’s government to join this and nominate me. We submitted it by sending to the emails mentioned above and we got a reply from them confirming they got the form and that it will be included in the raffle. 🙂

Wala pa din eh. Been trying to check also sa mga newspapers baka they already published it but wala pa din. I don’t know why it took them this long to release the results. I remember last year, it was a day or two, nakapost na agad sa website nila.

BTW, how will they give the money to the scholars? Are they gonna give it directly to the school cashier or just give it directly to the scholars?

oh, that sucks. i only have 7,000 pesos for my tuition. the 13K will just be wasted. ARGH.
Is Miscellaneous included in that 7K? Because GSIS will cover tuition and misc fees up to P20K

ndi ko po 2loy alam kung san ako mag eenrol kasi wala pa result sayang naman ksi ung 20k. kung ang tuition fee po ay 30k since 20k lang ung ibbgay nila pwede kaya un kht kmi nalang magdagdag nung kulang na 10k? and pwede nyo po ba kontakin ang gsis para magtanung? sorry kung maraming question, sensya na po 🙂
Yup that is possible. Basta they will only shoulder 20K, any excess should be shouldered by you.

There are already winners but it looks like the list is not yet available online. You have to call them at 9764970 and ask if you won.

yeah, there is no annoucement yet,, i heard it will be a competetive exam and it is still on hold ,,according to sir cris of HR dept of gsis.
Which branch of GSIS you have spoken to?
